The 34 Oldest Players in the NFL right now (September 2019)

The NFL is a young mans league, but there are some aging vets still wearing the pads on Sundays. Lets go through the list of the oldest NFL players currently playing as of September 2019. This list contains 34 players, but I will continue to add more throughout the season.

1. Adam Vinitari
Age: 46
Position: K
Draft Year: 1996, Undrafted. New England Patriots
Current team: Indianapolis Colts
Adam Vinatieri is the oldest player currently in the NFL and only 2 years from being the oldest player to ever play in the NFL (George Blanda). He is one of the greatest kickers in NFL history and played for 2 winning franchises over his career. New England Patriots (1996-2005), Indianapolis Colts(2006 - Present). He will be 47 in December 2019.

2. Matt Bryant
Age: 44
Position: K
Draft Year: 1999, Undrafted
Current team: Atlanta Falcons
Matt Bryant started his career in the Arena Football League with the Iowa Barnstormers before bouncing around the NFL and NFL Europe. He is the eighth most accurate kicker in NFL history. He has played for the Atlanta Falcons since 2009. He was released before the 2019 season but was resigned before the season started. New York Giants (2002-2003), Dallas Cowboys (2004), Indianapolis Colts (2004), Miami Dolphins (2004), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2005-2008), Atlanta Falcons (2009-Present)

3. Tom Brady
Age: 42
Position: QB
Draft Year: 2000, Round 6, Pick 199. New England Patriots
Current Team: New England Patriots
The GOAT. Everyone who watches the NFL knows Tom Brady is the oldest QB in the league and has won 6 super bowls, most recently this year over the LA Rams. He backed up Drew Bledsoe to start the 2001 season and when Bledsoe got hurt week 2, the rest is history. Brady only missed one full season his whole career thanks to Bernard Pollard (2009).

4. John Denney
Age: 40
Position: Long Snapper
Draft Year: 2005, Undrafted. Miami Dolphins
Current Team: Miami Dolphins
WHO!? I'm sure everyone outside of Miami is asking who John Denney is. The 14 year Long Snapper was actually cut during final roster cuts this year, but I decided to include him in the list anyway. He played for the Dolphins his entire career.

5. Drew Brees
Age: 40
Position: QB
Draft Year: 2000, Round 2, Pick 32. San Diego Chargers
Current team: New Orleans Saints
Tom Brady gets alot of old man love but Drew Brees has been in almost just as long. He was drafted by the chargers and was backing up Doug Flutie early in his career. The Chargers drafted Philip Rivers in 2004 but due to his hold out, Brees started the 2004 season and made the postseason. In 2005 he suffered a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder and that would be his final season in San Diego. The Maimi Dolphins and the New Orleans Saints were heavily interested in Brees in the 2006 offseason but Miami ended up trading for Daunte Culpepper instead. Brees has the most career passing yards and completions in NFL history and won his first and only super bowl in 2009 against the Indianapolis Colts.

6. Josh Mccown
Age: 40
Position: QB
Draft Year: 2002, Round 3, Pick 81. Arizona Cardinals
Current Team: Philadelphia Eagles
Josh Mccown retired in the offseason this year but quickly unretired and signed with the Philadelphia Eagles after the injury to Nate Sudfeld. The career journeyman has played for 11 NFL teams. Arizona Cardinals (2002-2005), Detroit Lions (2006), Oakland Raiders (2007), Miami Dolphins(2008 Training Camp), Carolina Panthers (2008-2009), San Francisco 49ers (2011 Training Camp), Chicago Bears (2011-2013), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2014), Cleveland Browns (2015-2016), New York Jets (2017-2018), Philadelphia Eagles (2019 - present). He played for the United Football League in 2010, playing for the Hartford Colonials. His best season came in 2013 taking over for an injured Jay Cutler throwing for 13 touchdowns, 1,829 yards and one interception.

7. Benjamin Watson
Age: 38
Position: TE
Draft Year: 2004, Round 1, Pick 32, New England Patriots
Current Team: New England Patriots
Ben Watson is the oldest tight end in the league at 38 years old. He retired at the end of the 2018 season, but then quickly un-retired and signed with the Patriots. He played for the New England Patriots (2004-2009), Cleveland Browns (2010-2012), New Orleans Saints (2013-2015), Baltimore Ravens (2016-2017), New Orleans Saints (2018), and New England Patriots (2019-Present). He currently is suspended for the first four games of the year.

8. Eli Manning
Age: 38
Position: QB
Draft Year: 2004, Round 1, Pick 1. San Diego Chargers
Current Team: New York Giants
Eli Manning hosed the Chargers in 2004 by not signing with them which forced them to trade him to the Giants for Philip Rivers. Eli won 2 super bowls by beating the undefeated 2007 Patriots and then beating them again in 2011. The Giants just drafted his replacement in Daniel Jones, but Eli is still the starter for now.

9. Matt Schaub
Age: 38
Position: QB
Draft Year: 2004, Round 3, Pick 90. Atlanta Falcons
Current Team: Atlanta Falcons
Yes, the pick six king is still in the NFL backing up Matt Ryan in Atlanta, where he started his career. He had a pretty good career in Houston. In 2009, he led the league in passing yards, throwing for 4,770.

10. L.P. Ladouceur
Age: 38
Position: LS
Draft Year: 2005, Undrafted, New Orleans Saints
Current Team: Dallas Cowboys
Louis-Philippe Ladouceur is a long time Dallas Cowboy who was actually drafted in the Canadian Football League in 2004 but returned to school and went undrafted in 2005. He was released by the Saints before the season started and was signed by the Cowboys.

11. Don Mulhbach
Age: 38
Position: LS
Draft Year: 2004, Undrafted, Baltimore Ravens
Current Team: Detroit Lions
Another long time long snapper in the NFL, this time for the Detroit Lions. Don started his career in 2004 for the Baltimore Ravens but similar to L.P. he was released before the season started. He has been with the Detroit Lions ever since. Mulhbach has played in every game since 2005, except for one in 2009.

12. Jason Witten
Age: 37
Position: TE
Draft Year: 2003, Round 3, Pick 69, Dallas Cowboys
Current Team: Dallas Cowboys
Jason Witten is a no doubt hall of famer. He has 69 receiving touchdowns and over 12,000 yards receiving. The same cannot be said about his announcing skills though. His brief stint on Monday Night Football was an absolute trainwreck. He gave that up and signed back with the Cowboys.

13. Ben Roethlisberger
Age: 37
Position: QB
Draft Year: 2004, Round 1, Pick 11, Pittsburgh Steelers
Current Team: Pittsburgh Steelers
Big Ben is another QB on this list from the 2004 draft class. He went 14-1 including playoffs in his rookie year and won 2 super bowls in 2005 and 2008.

14. Philip Rivers
Age: 37
Position: QB
Draft Year: 2004, Round 1, Pick 4, New York Giants
Current Team: Los Angeles Chargers
Philip Rivers is another future HOF QB that consistently puts up great numbers but has never made it to the super bowl. The chargers were a playoff team in 2018 and should still contend in 2019.

15. Cameron Wake
Age: 37
Position: OLB
Draft Year: 2005, Undrafted, New York Giants
Current Team: Tennessee Titans
Cameron Wake is a veteran pass rusher with 100.5 sacks. He started his career undrafted for the New York Giants, but was released before training camp started. He then signed with the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League and dominated for a couple years before joining the Miami Dolphins in 2009. 19. Jason Peters

Jason Peters started his career in Buffalo as an Undrafted Free agent. He played really well in 2006 and 2007 and held out in 2008. He was then traded to the Eagles in 2009 and is currently under a one year contract in 2019. He won his first super bowl ring in the 2017-2018 season while recovering from a torn ACL. Buffalo Bills (2004-2009), Philadelphia Eagles (2009 - Present)

20. Andy Lee

Current Team: Los Angeles Rams
Andrew Whitworth started his career as guard from 2006-2009. He then moved to left tackle and became one of the best at his position. Whitworth wasn't apart of a playoff win until he joined the Rams in 2017 due to constant playoff failure on the Bengals. He has started 195 games over his career. Cincinnati Bengals (2006-2017), Los Angeles Rams (2017-Present)

22. Frank Gore
Age: 36
Position: RB
Draft Year: 2005, Round 3, Pick 65, San Francisco 49ers
Current Team: Buffalo Bills
Frank Gore is ageless for a running back. It's hard to see running backs make it past 35 and Gore is still starting for the Bills at 36 years old. He holds the record for the most seasons with 1200 yards from scrimmage which is 12. He has played in the 210 games over his 14 year career and has 14,748 rushing yards along with 77 rushing touchdowns. San Francisco 49ers (2005-2014), Indianapolis Colts (2015-2017), Miami Dolphins (2018), Buffalo Bills (2019 - Present)

Draft Year: 2005, Round 3, Pick 65, San Francisco 49ers
Current Team: Buffalo Bills
Ryan Fitzpatrick aka Fitzmagic or Fitztragic has been in the NFL as long as Alex Smith, Aaron Rodgers, Thomas Davis, and Frank Gore. He might be the most inconsistent quarterback in NFL history. He's had streaks of games where he throws for 400 yards and 4 touchdowns and games where he throws 4 picks in a half. He has never been to the playoffs as a starter but he was 1 game away in 2015 for the New York Jets, where he threw 3 picks in the season finale against the Buffalo Bills at a 10-6 record. He is the only QB in NFL history to have three consecutive games of 400 yards passing. St. Louis Rams (2005-2006), Cincinnati Bengals (2007-2008), Buffalo Bills (2009-2012), Tennessee Titans (2013), Houston Texans (2014), New York Jets (2015-2016), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2017-2018), Miami Dolphins (2019-Present)

Current Team: Los Angeles Chargers
Thomas Davis is a long time Carolina Panther Linebacker. He said 2018 would be his last season but decided to give it another go but this year it would be with the Chargers. It's pretty impressive to see a guy play all these years with 3 ACL tears in the same knee. He has over 1,000 tackles over his career. In week 1 of 2019 against the Colts, he had 14 tackles. Carolina Panthers (2005-2018), Los Angeles Chargers (2019-Present)

Ritchie Incognito has been trouble for most of his career, from fighting people in funeral homes, to bullying accusations and dirty play on the field. He still has been a dominant guard for most of his career and that shows with his longevity. He is suspended currently for 2 games to start the 2019 season but will resume his starting role after. St. Louis Rams (2005-2009), Buffalo Bills (2009), Miami Dolphins (2010-2013), Buffalo Bills (2015-2017), Oakland Raiders (2019-Present)

33. Darren Sproles
Age: 36
Position: Runningback
Draft Year: 2006, Round 1, Pick 24, Cincinnati Bengals
Current Team: Houston Texans
Hard to believe a 36 year old RB at 5'6 is still running between the tackles, but Sproles has been putting up big numbers for years. He has pondered retirement for a couple years now so 2019 may be his last year. San Diego Chargers (2005-2010), New Orleans Saints (2011-2013), Philadelphia Eagles (2014-Present)

NFL Power Rankings - Week 2

1. New England Patriots The Patriots manhandled the Steelers on Sunday night 33-3. Tom Brady had 341 yards and 3 touchdown passes to Josh Gordon and Philip Dorsett. The Patriots are the clear favorites to win it all and just added AB to the mix. The defense held the Steelers to 308 total yards and only 3 points. This is the scariest Patriots team we have seen in awhile. 2. Kansas City Chiefs The Chiefs came out where they left off last year. Mahomes picked apart the Jags defense putting up 491 total yards. The Tyreek Hill injury hurts, but Sammy Watkins torched the secondary with 198 yards and 3 TDs. This is such a fun team to watch. 3. Los Angeles Rams The Rams got a nice win in Carolina while gaining 166 yards on the ground. Jared Goff looked inaccurate and only threw for 186 yards and defense forced 3 turnovers and sacked Cam 3 times. 4. New Orleans Saints Hard to top the first of the Monday night double header with Saints vs Texans. The game was spectacular, and Bree

NFL Power Rankings - Week 1

1. New England Patriots Hard to dethrone the super bowl champs from the #1 spot to start the season. The Patriots have one of the most underrated defenses in the league along with a hall of fame coach and QB. They also have some favorable weapons in Josh Gordon, Julian Edelmen, and Sony Michel. Just a reminder that Gordon is only 28..lets hope he stays out of trouble. 2. Kansas City Chiefs No suspension for Tyreek Hill guarantees an explosive offense for 2019. The defense lost Dee Ford and Justin Houston but added Frank Clark in a trade from Seattle 3. Los Angeles Rams Sean Mcvay is the next bright head coach in the NFL. He will scheme the offense up to be a dominant force in the NFC. Aaron Donald is arguably the best player in the NFL but they still gave up alot of points in 2018. E xpect a big year for Cooper Kupp.  4. New Orleans Saints The Saints will be right back where they were last year. After an off season of complaining about the missed call in the NFC Champ
